iUM is a free online cellphone/data usage meter developed for iPhones safari web browser. iUM currently supports Virgin Mobile Australia for both data plan usage and post paid cap usage.

Please note that Corra Communications is not affliated with Virgin Mobile Australia in any way, this is a free tool that enables you to more easily check your usage. Please do not rely on the accuracy of the data produced by this tool. We do not save your account pin number in any way, account pin is saved as a cookie on your iPhone.

We do not condone handing over personal information to third parties and suggest if you have any doubts about the security of our service that you request the source code from us and run it on your own server.

About the software

iUM is written for PHP5 and uses the free iUI iPhone javascript framework http://code.google.com/p/iui/. The project is open source released under the BSD licence and will be available here soon after we clean up the code a little (you can still request it by emailing us).

How to use

To use this software just navigate to https://secure.corra.com.au/iUM/ on your iPhone or iPod Touch. To enable easy access to this application you may add it to your home screen by clicking the plus sign in safari.

Requirements

Currently iUM only works with Virgin Mobile Australia, if you'd like your mobile provider included please contact us and we'll see what we can do.

• iPhone or iPod Touch device
• Virgin Mobile Australia post paid cap plan
• Virgin Mobile Australia 3G data pack (if you want to use the data usage feature)
• Can be used in Safari or Firefox for testing purposes (firefox is kind of buggy)

Hang on!

Because of the way we retrieve data from Virgin Mobile this tool may stop working temporarily or indefinately, if we can fix it we'll try but no gurantees!

Privacy

We've had a few questions about the details we keep stored on our server. Please see the table below for the exact data stored on our server regarding your Virgin Mobile Account. Remember if you wish to remove ALL of the data stored on our server you can at any time by clicking 'Delete Details' from the settings menu.

• Phone Number
• Display Settings (Show phone and/or data)
• Date data was last retrieved (so we know when to cache and when to get new data)
• Cached Data: (we only get new data for you every 30mins to prevent hammering of Virgins servers) Data plan total MB, Data plan used MB, Cap total dollar value, Cap used dollar value, Cap plan name, Data plan name
• MD5 of your PIN - MD5 cannot be reversed so we can't login to your virgin account using the information we store, the reason an MD5 of your PIN is kept is so that someone else who knows your phone number can't be given cached usage and plan information.
